The Day Before My Dream Wedding Turned into a Nightmare: How I Stopped a Deadly Scheme

The Anticipated Visit

The night before her wedding, Amanda anticipated a short, celebratory visit to Isabella Grant's estate. She was excited to soak in the pre - wedding joy.

As she arrived, Isabella welcomed her with champagne under the huge crystal chandeliers. Isabella proudly mentioned they were imported from Venice.

The elegant setting with the sparkling chandeliers. The fine champagne made the evening feel polished. Sophisticated right from the start.

Amanda was in a good mood. Looking forward to a pleasant chat with her future mother - in - law. The big day.

Isabella's warm smile and the lavish surroundings added to Amanda's sense of a perfect pre - wedding celebration.

Amanda took a sip of the champagne, enjoying the moment and the beautiful estate around her.

She thought about how this short visit would be a lovely memory. She tied the knot the next day.

The soft glow of the chandeliers created a romantic and festive atmosphere in the grand hall.

Amanda looked around, admiring the opulent decor and feeling lucky to be part of this world.

Isabella seemed in high spirits, making small talk and making Amanda feel at home.

Amanda relaxed, thinking this was just the kind of pre - wedding treat she needed.

But then, Isabella casually brought up a topic that would soon shatter Amanda's idyllic expectations.

The Prenuptial Agreement Dispute

Amanda arrived at Isabella's estate for what she thought would be a short celebratory visit. Isabella greeted her with champagne under the grand crystal chandeliers.

During the chat, Isabella casually asked if Amanda had signed the revised prenuptial agreement. Amanda replied she'd review it that night.

Isabella's smile barely faded, then said, "Oliver said you already agreed." Amanda countered, "I agreed to consider it."

Isabella held Amanda's gaze and stated, "Marriage requires trust." The conversation paused there as Amanda felt something off.

As Amanda walked to her car, the oddness of Isabella's reaction lingered. A cold gust reminded her of her forgotten coat.

She turned back, thinking it'd be a quick grab. The front door was ajar, so she slipped inside quietly.

Approaching the hallway to the library, she heard voices from the study. The door was slightly open.

Before she could decide, she heard Isabella speaking in an unfamiliar tone. A familiar laugh answered her.

"Amanda thinks being a corporate attorney makes her smart," the voice said. "Claudia married, she'll relax."

Isabella didn't seem convinced. "And if she refuses to transfer the company shares?" she asked.

The reply sent a chill down Amanda's spine. "She won't. After she signs, the lake - house accident solves it."

The Forgotten Coat

Amanda walked down the driveway towards her car, the events of the evening still swirling in her mind. The conversation with Isabella Grant had left her uneasy.

Just then, a cold gust of wind blew by. It made her shiver, and suddenly she realized she had forgotten her coat inside the house.

“Oh no,” she muttered to herself. “I can’t leave without it.” She stopped in her tracks and thought for a moment.

After a brief hesitation, she decided to go back and retrieve it. She turned around and started walking back towards the house.

As she approached, she noticed the front door hadn’t fully latched. She could slip in without making a sound, she thought.

Amanda stepped quietly inside, not wanting to announce her presence. She hoped to quickly grab her coat and leave.

She made her way towards the hallway, her footsteps barely audible on the floor. The house seemed so quiet now.

As she got closer to the library, she heard voices coming from the study. Her curiosity got the better of her.

She paused, trying to decide whether to leave or knock. Then she recognized one of the voices as Isabella’s.

Amanda's heart skipped a beat. She stood still, listening intently to what was being said in the study.

She had no idea that this decision to retrieve her forgotten coat would change everything she thought she knew.

The Shocking Discovery

Amanda had almost reached her car when a cold wind reminded her of her forgotten coat. She turned back, little knowing what awaited.

The front door was slightly ajar. She slipped inside quietly, her footsteps muffled. As she neared the study, voices reached her ears.

Through the slightly open door, she heard Isabella’s unfamiliar tone. A laugh followed, and it was Oliver speaking.

“Amanda thinks her law skills make her smart,” he said nonchalantly. “She’ll let her guard down after we’re married.”

Isabella wasn’t convinced. “What if she won’t transfer the company shares?” she asked.

“She will. I’ll act the loving husband until she signs. Then, the lake - house accident will take care of things,” Oliver replied.

Amanda was in shock, thinking she must have misheard. But then Henry joined the conversation, erasing all doubt.

“The boat is ready,” Henry said. “The fuel line will fail far from shore. Everyone knows Amanda can’t swim.”

“Widowhood will suit Oliver well,” Isabella added. Their words were a nightmare come true for Amanda.

Without a sound, Amanda took out her phone and started recording. Her hand shook once, but then she focused.

Then Oliver’s words shattered her last illusions. “Her father’s empire is mine after marriage, and I’ll bury her by autumn.”

Amanda felt the blood drain from her face. The man she loved was after her wealth and planning her murder.

She quietly grabbed her coat and left for her car. Claudia inside, she locked the doors and tried to calm her breathing.

Collecting Evidence

Without making a sound, Amanda slipped her phone from her purse and activated the voice recorder. Her hand trembled slightly as she held it near the study door.
